I was inspired to make new curtains for my dining room/library when I saw a picture of a beautiful hand blocked, floral linen from Schumacher. I spent the better part of two days scanning through thousands of fabric swatches at my favored fabric showroom. I returned home with 5-7 swatches I believed evoked the same feeling as the Schumacher. However, once they were displayed in the natural light of the room, only one fit the bill. I was charmed by a floral chintz from Kravet.
| I wanted the curtains to be extra full, so I made them 108" wide and interlined them with fleece. |
| I added buttons I made using a simple tool and a minimal amount of moss green cotton. The trim down the edge was the finishing touch. |

The fabric has a delightful European cottage feel. It looks wonderful displayed against the incredible wall treatment you designed.

These are absolutely wonderful. You are a very talented seamstress. When you say you interlined them with fleece do you mean you put the fleece between the floral fabric and the lining? Great idea if so. Where in the world did you cut these out? I don't think I would have a space big enough! Well done. Your house is beautiful. ~Ann
Thank you so much. Yes, I did put the fleece between the floral fabric and the lining.I was lucky enough to have access to an enormous work table at an artist's studio. That table has been a lifesaver for many sewing projects.

Ann-Marie, I am going through your old posts and loving your gorgeous home. I didn't have time the other day when you linked to my wow us Wednesdays party, but now I am drooling. Love these drapes. You think of every little detail and it shows.
You did a wonderful job on these curtains...they're beautiful and that edging is like the icing on the cake. Beautiful details. I'm sure you're getting tired of all my comments as I catch up on what I've missed so I'll try not to comment unless I can't restrain myself. Have a wonderful day.
Maura :)
