When the kitchen was remodeled I had a plate rack installed- I've always loved the charm they give a kitchen. However, it wasn't until the past few weeks, and the demise of my dishwasher, that I truly began to appreciate the plate rack for its utilitarian purpose.

In Italy I see these plate racks above the sink and they have no bottom, so after washing the plates by hand, the lady places them on the rack to drip the water in the sink!
Thanks for joining my blog, I like yours as well!
I never had a dishwasher so yes, a plate rack is really handy;)
I've considered creating a plate rack for my tiny cottage kitchen. Now all I have to do is convince hubby to help build it. ;)

Your kitchen is beautiful...I have a plate rack over my kitchen sink. Thankfully I have never had to use it for the real thing! Love your beadboard back splash.
This blog is one of the best kept secrets in blog land. You need to join more linky parties to get the word out. Also...have you considered making the pictures you post bigger in size? For example, I would have loved to see bigger pics of the curtains you made. Linky parties are a bit time consuming but they are well worth it. I have met some wonderful people. Hope you don't mind me voicing my opinion...~Ann
Ann,
Thank you for the compliments. I really appreciate your advice- I'm new to this and still have so much to learn.
